Sponsorship News | Easts Juniors Rugby

FS Solutions is pleased to sponsor Easts Juniors Rugby for the 2017 period.

Easts was founded in 1938 and is the oldest Rugby club in Canberra. Easts Juniors provides sporting opportunities for both boys and girls between the ages 5 to 18 with a dedicated committee and coaching team who hold a clear vision for community development through sport.

Easts primary objective is in using sport for building the next generation of community leaders. As such they provide access to sport for disadvantaged youth, and their programs focus heavily on the development of key life skills such as participation, inclusion, teamwork, communication and leadership.

Examples of their genuine commitment to these values include their partnership with The Smith Family, our “girls play free” program, and a range of other community partnerships in development for 2017.

Jess Rides to Conquer Cancer

On the 10th and 11th of October our Service Manager Jess Leet will join the Ride to Conquer Cancer with a Canberra team of eight who hope to raise $20,000.

Preparations have been ongoing with many training sessions extending across her weekends and spare hours. The ride will cover 200Km in 2 days whilst raising money for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

The ride is coordinated each year in memory of one very special person, Helen Gorrell, who ironically lost her battle with Cancer just a few days after featuring in a TEN News report on the 2012 Ride to Conquer Cancer.

If you would like to sponsor Jess and her team please visit this link. Alternatively you can keep up to date with their training by following their Facebook page here.

CASE STUDY SECURITY

Case study AIS

Location: Bruce, ACT
Industry: Public spaces

FS Solutions was awarded the Gallagher Electronic Access Control Upgrade for the Australian Institute of Sport in April 2014 and with a completion date of the 6th June 2014 the design and implementation of the works was critical to ensuring the completion date would be met. FS Solutions completed a detailed project plan in consultation with the AIS and consultant GHD to ensure continuing operation of the access control and security systems. This included a detailed audit to ensure tendered design information was correct, inspection of all work locations to ensure the work area raised no safety or implementation issues and development of a complete materials lists for the works to ensure no equipment supply delays.

The installation was completed utilising three distinct teams; firstly a Controller Build Team who pre-built each controller depending on its requirements and tested general functionality and communications, an Implementation Team that completed physical changeover of the Gallagher Controllers & Readers and a Testing Team which completed the detailed programming and testing of the new system. The installation was completed on time and included the installation of 60+ Gallagher Controllers, 55+ Gallagher High Density Input/Output Modules & 290+ Gallagher T Series Readers.

The Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave

As many of our clients will know Darren Cope has been growing quite an epic beard over the last year.

Along with a friend Luke Johnson, Darren decided to shave off his beard to raise funds in support of Luke’s beautiful Niece Anwyn who has been battling with Leukemia for a long time now. The boys were successful in raising a mammoth $10,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Darren reports that he’s feeling very strange and that wind and water feel amazing. Well done Darren. We are proud of your efforts and by gosh you look extra smart with a little less hair on your face.
